ALEX Curran last night hit out at the cruel gossips who claim her marriage to Steven Gerrard is dead.

The WAG beauty opened her heart to deny allegations that she has split from the England ace.

And she claims those that say otherwise are lying. Sexy Alex finally hit out after weeks of scandalous stories circulating on the internet about her and Liverpool midfielder Steven.

The Daily Star is fully aware of the cruel claims, which Alex insists are just “ridiculous” rubbish. She said last night: “I’d like to set the record straight. We’ve never been happier.

Sources close to the couple dismissed the tales as “pub gossip”, but they still spread like wildfire after being published online.

Rumours the couple had parted first emerged on the internet three weeks ago

The outrageous stories were posted on Twitter and then forwarded around the country via text messages and emails.

The Daily Star has been deluged with calls and text messages from readers who were sent the messages. And they were fuelled by the claim that the original sender heard the gossip from “someone who knew the John Terry story before it was public”.

Other messages claimed the reason the stories weren’t in the press was because the Gerrards had taken out an injunction – which they have not.

One version of the story said £120,000- a-week ace Steven, 28, had moved out of the family home and was living in a hotel in Southport, Merseyside

And the gossips claimed the couple’s marriage was all but over after a string of shocking incidents. But furious Alex, 27, insisted: “There have been loads of rumours going around Liverpool saying that me and Steven have split up, that he’s moved into a hotel and ridiculous things like that.

“This comes up every couple of years.

“It’s funny because we were saying the other day that we’ve never been happier.”

Alex, who was speaking to OK! magazine, said she thought the gossips had got the wrong end of the stick after the pair did move out of their home

But that was for a far more mundane reason. She said: “We’re getting our kitchen floor redone. We’ve been sleeping at Steven’s mum’s.”

Alex said Steven is a “really thoughtful” husband who takes her for romantic meals.

She added: “He calls me ‘Pet’ and I call him ‘Pet’ – we’ve had that for years.”

They married in June 2007 and have two children – Lilly-Ella, five, and Lexie, three.

A spokesman for Steven, whose club has a crucial Europa League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, said he is concentrating on his football and will not be commenting.
